Why You Should Want To Die Fast Instead Of Die Slow

I know that title sounds intense, but hear me out. I’m not saying you should be reckless. I’m not saying you should live like your health doesn’t matter. I’m saying the exact opposite. When I say you should want to “die fast,” I mean you should want to stay healthy, strong, and capable for as long as possible instead of spending decades slowly falling apart from problems that could have been prevented, delayed, or reduced with better habits.Because yeah, we all have an expiration date. But there’s a big difference between getting older and slowly losing your ability to live.

The Goal Is Not To Live Forever

Fitness is not immortality. Eating whole foods is not immortality. Lifting weights is not immortality. Getting your steps in, doing cardio, sleeping better, and drinking water does not mean nothing bad will ever happen to you.You can do a lot of things right and still have health problems later in life. That’s just reality. But if I have the choice between dealing with major health problems in my early 70s or dealing with them in my 30s, 40s, or 50s, I’m choosing later every single time.Because I don’t just want to be alive. I want to actually be able to live.

Dying Slow Is What Most People Ignore

When people think about poor health, they usually think about one major event. A heart attack. A scary diagnosis. A surgery. A doctor finally telling them something has to change. But a lot of the time, the scary part is not one single moment. It’s the slow decline before that moment ever happens. It’s having low energy every day. It’s your joints hurting more than they should. It’s getting out of breath doing basic tasks. It’s slowly gaining weight every year and pretending it is not a big deal. It’s losing muscle and strength until normal life feels harder. It’s needing multiple medications earlier than expected. It’s spending years feeling trapped in a body that does not move, perform, or recover the way you want. That is what I mean by dying slow. Not literally dropping dead, but slowly losing your quality of life while convincing yourself you will “start later.”

Your Habits Are Either Helping Future You Or Hurting Future You

This is why I’m big on eating mostly whole foods and exercising consistently. Not because you need to be perfect. Not because you can never eat ramen, pizza, burgers, dessert, or your favorite snacks. And definitely not because fitness should take over your entire personality. It’s because your daily habits stack. The way you eat most of the time matters. The way you move most of the time matters. The way you train most of the time matters. The way you recover most of the time matters. One day does not ruin you. One week probably does not ruin you either. But years of ignoring your body can absolutely catch up to you. And when they do, the price is usually much higher than a gym membership, a workout program, or learning how to eat better.
This is also why having a real plan helps. Whether someone uses one of my Anime Physique Workout Programs, gets coaching, or joins a fitness community for accountability, the point is the same. You need a structure that helps you keep showing up long after the motivation wears off.

Think Of It Like An Anime Training Arc

Nobody becomes the strongest character in the show by accident. They train. They recover. They get stronger. They lose. They adjust. They keep going. That’s how your fitness journey works too. You are not just training for the mirror. You are training for your future arc.You are training so your 40 year old self still feels capable. You are training so your 50 year old self still has strength. You are training so your 60 year old self can still move well. You are training so you do not enter the “old injured mentor who can barely walk” arc way earlier than necessary.Because the real flex is not just looking good for summer. The real flex is still being able to enjoy your life decades from now.

You Do Not Need Extreme Fitness To Be Healthy

This is where a lot of people get fitness wrong. They think taking their health seriously means they have to train like a superhero every single day.You don’t.You do not need random workouts. You do not need to chase soreness. You do not need to max out every week. You do not need to do brutal HIIT circuits until you hate your life. You need repeatable habits that you can actually sustain. Lift weights a few times per week. Focus on progressive overload. Train close enough to failure to stimulate muscle growth without being reckless. Use full range of motion. Eat mostly whole foods. Get enough protein. Walk more. Do Zone 2 or Zone 3 cardio. Rest enough to recover. That’s not flashy, but it works. And when you stack those habits for months and years, you are doing more than changing how you look. You are changing how your body ages.

Looking Better Is Still A Good Goal

I don’t want this to sound like physique goals are shallow. They’re not.Wanting to lose fat is valid. Wanting to build muscle is valid. Wanting bigger shoulders, stronger legs, a smaller waist, more confidence, or an anime-inspired physique is valid.A lot of people start because they want to look better. That’s fine. But the longer you train, the more you realize the physique is only part of the reward. You start feeling stronger. You start moving better. You start having more energy. You start trusting yourself more. You start realizing your body is not just something you look at. It is something you live in.And that should make you want to take care of it.This is one reason I like tying fitness to anime. It makes the process feel less boring. You are not just “doing a workout.” You are following a program with a goal, a theme, and a physique you are working toward. It gives the journey more identity, which makes it easier to stay consistent.

The Worst Time To Care Is When You’re Forced To

A lot of people wait until they have no choice. They wait until the doctor says something scary. They wait until their clothes do not fit at all. They wait until walking up stairs feels embarrassing. They wait until their back, knees, or hips constantly bother them. They wait until they feel so far gone that starting feels overwhelming. But you do not have to wait for a crisis to start caring. You can start now. Not with perfection. Not with punishment. Not with some insane “new me” plan that lasts two weeks.Just with better habits. A better workout routine. A better relationship with food. A better plan for your goals. A better standard for how you want to feel.

This is a title

So yes, I think you should want to die fast instead of die slow. Not because life does not matter, but because it does.I want to be healthy for as long as I possibly can. I want to lift, move, travel, train, enjoy food, enjoy people, and actually experience life without my body breaking down earlier than it needs to.You might not control everything, but you do control a lot more than you think. And every workout, every walk, every balanced meal, every night of better sleep, and every small habit you build is a vote for the future version of you.So stop only thinking about fitness as something you do to look better next month. Start thinking of it as something you do so you can keep living better for decades.Your future self is either going to thank you… or wish you started sooner.
